What's Iran going to do? Send speedboats against a Carrier Task Force to stop shipping? At best they could disrupt shipping for a couple days before being wiped out.
Attack Israel? That would be suicide on many levels.
WW3? That's what Sadam said or that US would have another Vietnam in the desert. Actually military campaign was all over in two weeks.

All these countries can yap and threat as much as they want but when it comes to military power there is the US and then the rest and the gap is huge.
None of them have the ability to project military power outside their own borders in the way US and/or NATO can.
