No. I was like 12 when they gave out free dial-up internet. There model was to give people free internet for watching advertisements. I remember my sister getting free internet.
I think this business model is giving people free mobile internet. Install a app or a game, and you get free internet. My only thought is now, why would app developers pay to market there apps to people, who cant even afford to pay for mobile data?
When you market something, you think the end user may be able to buy your product at some point in time, hence the reason, why most products are marketed to females, they hold the most disposal income and household budgets.
But, why would people market a product to a person that can't even afford to pay for the mobile?
Conversely, if you can spend $800-1,000 buying an iPhone, why can't you afford mobile internet data. It's really hard for me to get my head around.
