Hi all, whilst I have been investing in all ends of the market since about 1997 it has been predominantly my stockbroker with my hard earned money and myself mucking around with some "willing to lose" cash in the spec end.
If someone is willing could you please give me some guidance on the implications of a buy out should our execs accept one. eg. If a 1 billion dollar offer was made does the market rerate the SP accordingly? My expectation.
Are you obligated to sell your stake at the agreed valuation?
Are the terms different for each takeover?
Im sure there is a lot more detail and conditions but I would really like to get my head around it just in case it's on the cards which i doubt.
Personally my opinion is that the execs response to an interested buyer would be similar to Mark Zuck's (FB) response......."no thanks.....I dont think ill have another great idea like this again".
Cheers WSL.
