What is Overpass?

“Overpass” is a new offering in the Freeway application which allows consumers to pre-purchase unlimited data associated with a particular app. For example perhaps you don't use a lot of apps on your smartphone other than social media apps, with the right Overpass offering you can pay a fixed monthly fee to get unlimited data for those particular applications and this model is often much less expensive than unlimited data plans!

How can I get Overpass?

Overpass is initially launching in the United States on AT&T and Verizon. In the near future Overpass will be available for iPhone users as well.

To use Overpass you'll need
- A smartphone running Android 4.1 or later, or an iPhone running iOS 10 or later.
- Cellular service from a supported carrier
- Some minimum amount of data (e.g. 1GB or more).

Overpass is a set of features inside the Freeway app, which can be installed from iPhone app store and Android app stores.

If your carrier doesn't support Overpass yet, give them a call and tell them "I want Overpass!". We'll be working to bring Overpass to more carriers in the near future and it helps for operators to hear the customer demand! ( Back to basics with Social Media Marketing, word of mouth )

What apps does Overpass support?

Freeway supports video, games, music, social apps and more. Check the Freeway app to see what's available today and the details of the particular offer. If you see a particular app missing, in the Freeway app select the gear icon and choose "Request offer for an App" and we'll review all the requests.( So many possibilities )

Can I enable/disable unlimited data for a particular app?

By default all apps in a given Overpass bundle are enabled for unlimited data. Should you want to change this, just launch the Freeway app and select the gear icon in the top right corner. You can then toggle unlimited data on/off for each individual app.

Does this change in-app Ads and purchases?

Overpass offers can be purchased via in-app purchase using the Freeway app and different offer unlimited data for a variety of apps.

While Freeway Overpass does allow you to use these apps without having to pay for extra data, Freeway itself doesn't change the app experience. This means the in app experience doesn't change, apps that implement ads or in app purchases will continue to have these with Freeway Overpass offers.
