Note: It's worth reading the fine print. The data exclusion offers will be is SD quality for obvious reasons as it requires a smaller bandwidth & less data. So if you are now use to HD quality, would you go back to SD quality given that millions of people have replaced their old SD quality TV sets and replace it them with HD quality.

1. So my question would be are people willing to pay for the benefit of getting those content per month?

2. Will subscribers enjoy the lower quality resolution?

Personally I can't stand lower resolution or SD quality videos. They remind me of the latest block buster movies that you can watch online for FREE but it's CAM job quality.
I refuse to watch them as the quality is annoying and hurt my eyes. I much prefer to go to the cinema and watch it on the big screen.

It somewhat seems to me that this data exclusion of videos is rather clever marketing as Optus might also anticipate that majority of subscribers will not watch SD quality videos on their phone thereby Optus saves on the data costs whilst pocketing the extra $10 - $15 per month for the priviledge.

Also it resembles another form of the race to the bottom scenario when telcos try to outdo each other at the expense of their own network.

Data exclusions....nah not for me thanks
