SYT's SDK is used only by content providers when their content is hosted on a platform that is connected to the CSP, whether it be Verizon's new OTT or their older Go90, or any other platform. It is a toolkit that content providers use to link their content to the CSP. It is not used directly by an app that the general public use to view the content, so 'x' amount of downloads of that app are not accruing the SDK monthly payment. Only when content providers invoke the SDK for bringing content onto Verizon's platform will the SDK attract its payment.

This is why Verizon bought the rights to sub-licence the SDK, so that they can bring content from third parties onto their platform.
