Dear Jefferies2
My point is that these people are not bums living on welfare, but educated and intelligent people. The cost of governing a Nordic welfare state is Greenland-Danish internal matter and Danes seem to be Ok with it. The Nordic countries (Denmark-Iceland, Sweden, Norway and Iceland) are among the richest and happiest nations on the planet. Possibly they are for some communist and socialistic countries. I would say highly civilized, educated and democratic countries. So the financial relation with Denmark seem not to be such a problem for Danes as suggested by some not understandign .
The Greenland prime minister Mute Egede has a good relation with Danish Prime minister Mette Frederiksen

The GGG plan is not sustainable based faulty EIA. The profits would turn to environmental problems, check the EIA discussion.
Greenlandic people have multiple options in arranging their businesses. The best option for GGG investors, on the other hand, may be accepting the reality.
Thanks for the link to Greenland's Norse viking history. The community ended, and the reasons are not clear. One problem was the climate change, but they lived 200 year with it. One community may had to pull back to Iceland and Europe, because the raw materials markets, namely falling prices of walrus ivory because of competition from Africa (elephants) and Russia. Similarity REE may well be a new walrus bone losing its value even in a few years in the rapidly developing markets.
One thing is clear that the original Inuit people still strong in Greenland survived the hardest time. One colonialising population may have failed partly because of conflict with their ancestors right in Kvanefjeld region.
A general note:
The argument that electric cars would save the planet is hollow because it does not consider carbon consumed and resources need for building a new car.
