I remember reading not long after President Trump made his offer to buy Greenland that there was speculation that the USA would be willing to equal and replace Denmark’s financial assistance. No double dipping. There would be a quid pro quo attached. It was mooted that Greenland might possibly become a protectorate and then move toward becoming the 52nd state. It was just before President Trump cancelled his visit to Denmark.

.Difficult to see this government has much of a future if they’re thinking they can double dip financial assistance.

Also worth remembering Dr Mair has a long and excellent relationship with the US Geological Survey Service.
