I don't meant to butt in, but when you state - 'I believe the strategy he is espousing is one that balances income and growth opportunities whilst considering levels of risk.' -
is all relevant to what levels of risk a particular investor is at.
If you are low risk and happy with only a 10% holding in LCY great, but obviously your returns will reflect this and the brokers done his job.
Other's, like me, are a little higher risk, and when a stock like LCY comes along, and day by day removing itself from the specie status, hard not to be overweight on it. Also the rewards are so much sweeter. Currently my folio is 50% LCY based on my research and what 'I' think will happen in the world over the 2 - 5 years. I don't even think a broker could get close to advising me on that in a manner I would use.
