ANCAP do side impact and pole test. When I look at the videos the solid item is always down low. I doubt that the side impact (T-Bone) by a large 4WD bull bar (high riding) onto a sedan would be survivable. The tests, unfortunately, omitt such a common type of scenario. They seem to focus on a low obstacle or rigid pole being the collision.
Can anyone guide me towards new cars that incorporate T'Bone crash safety technologies?
I think a high riding large SUV/Van/Ute would fare better than a low riding sudan. Cars like the ISUZU MUX have a side intrusion bar though not sure if this is addition protection. I can't find any other car that appears to address this scenario. Obviously side impact airbags help alot, especially for SUV's.
