i listened to the audio of the meeting. they can run the plant at 8mtpa and make a shitload of money BUT there will be a lot of fines in the tailings which is basically losing money long term.
They have to work out how to enhance the filtering stages of the fines so that it collects a higher amount of them than it is.
I am sure they have worked out how much per day in lost fines this issue would cause in $$ and have rightly decided that they need to fix it rather than just push ahead with a plant that is 95% effective.
Its like a gold plant. if the plant is not collecting all the gold possible and they are losing a half a gram per ton of processed dirt that would be a huge $$ figure. same with this plant except it is IO fines that we will lose.

its not good as it causes delays but they are trying to get it right. They have made management changes etc so hopefully we are on the right track this time.
