If you don't say anything, you never know if you would have said the right thing.
Never be afraid to speak out, or challenge another person's line of thinking.
I don't see that is as not being critical or derogative, but healthy, it's just saying your thoughts.
You might be right, maybe he is right. 2 know more than one.
