Seeing as everyone is offering their unsolicited advice, I'll chuck in my 2 cents worth.

Stocks don't go up in a straight line. Shock! Horror! Sometimes they retrace and it's usually the retail traders doing the selling. There's no change to the fundamentals, and it usually happens after big gains. It might be a big retrace or it might be a small retrace. No one really knows for sure because no one has crystal ball. If the fundamentals haven’t changed, it will be small, or short lived.

Sometimes people sell out, and feel “sellers’ remorse.” They ruminate on their decision to sell, and rather than move on with their lives, they feel the need to tell the whole world that the share price will fall. I guess this is therapeutic for them. And sometimes, they even do it in the hope that it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, so they can avoid the cognitive dissonance that comes with watching the price of a share that they sold out of, rocket upwards.

So ask yourself, do you have a crystal ball? If so, you’re in luck, and you can trade every little retracement with precision to your heart’s content. You’ll be a billionaire in no time.

For those of us who don’t have a crystal ball, you just have to do it the old fashion way. Have the fundamentals changed? Should your decision to buy, sell, or hold be influenced by the bids and offers of random strangers, who just happen to be market participants at that one particular time of the day? Or an hour earlier? Or an hour later? Good luck with that strategy.
