Yes the “sophisticated investors” you’re describing do indeed do that. It’s the low risk strategy and I have no drama with it. I don’t play that way so personally I don’t really care what they do, so long as it’s not overly built on inside information that we all should know. Instead I’ve learned over 25+ years of doing this how to let them play their game to my advantage.

I suspect that the net selling would be a lot of placement selling which I think is what you are getting at. That’s the game - and it’s been a good one to clip a number of tickets along the way.
