    watso has spent ages, trying to get a "live cd" to work - but in the end, it seems to be a good idea.

    watso has a "puppy linux" on a bootable cd (just like windows xp) - the beauty is, is that when the cd is "loaded" the whole system (operating system, and software) sits in ram - so that the hard drive is not needed

    from watso's reading, it is supposed to be a pretty fast system, as it is pretty small - like about 70mb. watso will try and set it up on the hard drive, of an older computer. linux is supposed to be less prone to viruses etc etc

    worth thinking about
