How can you be positive the 2 mill was a cross trade, eg the one broker with 2 clients? Surely that must assume that there wasn't 2 million shares on the table closed out by the bell, and therefore it was not possible to happen any other way. However, even if it was the case and you are right, the fact( I believe) that the auction price was higher than the closing price suggests that someone believes bidding higher is opportunely more likely (especially the number in question), to reward him/her hansomely?
