This is the big picture as I see it - I would dispute that it is a lousy chart, it all depends where one entered the fray really and seeing through the noise. In case you haven't come across staged charts before, you can get some background if you read Stan Weinsteins 'Secrets for Profiting in Bull and Bear Markets', which although written some time ago is till current today. .
I know the price action is ragged but there is a pattern to it. We have gone through the full cycle, from stage 1 basing back in 2014 to stage 1 basing again since late 2016 which has formed a new long term higher low. The SP gone from 10 cents to the 50's. If the SP had ticked up over the same period more or less in a straight line one would be looking at a pretty good chart and people would see it as a great investment, 500% in less than 3 years or about 70%+ compound/annum. I would take that any day.
Unless there is something which is going pull the rug out from under, either news or market wise, then I wouldn't be too uptight at the moment. Some medium term traders/investors are no doubt hurting while good swing traders have probably done ok considering the volatilty on offer. Despite the long stage 4 downleg short selling has been neglible which tells us something. At some point soon we should start another cycle, we are already at the beginning.
