Sadly the algorithm traders are always one step ahead, there's almost no 'system' us mere humans can use to gain an advantage, the robots will always spot the patterns and adjust their approach indeed random buying into a position over time might be better. I too would advocate a small transaction tax to stop this not nonsense and to generate a decent funding stream for proper oversight of the markets. Sadly politicians are even more beholden to banks and fear of damaging the economy than they are to voters so it isn't likely to eventuate.
