The market has nothing to go on regarding the value in the underlying investments. The company values is 'investments' at cost or other external transaction values. This means that information to the market will always trail behind the real but hidden value. There will always be a 'lag'.
Market value of investments will only become apparent when there are 2-3 or realisations /IPOs at materially higher values than cost.
Then the market will have some basis to apply to the other investments. Its a track record thing.
This is always going to be a long term investment.
