You also seem to think they are performing their data mining operations 24/7 like FB and LinkedIn do as they operate social networks. 1PG are not running a network that needs to be available 24/7 and only need to perform data mining when a curated pool is required, so the system is idle otherwise and your comparison is absolutely way off. They can upscale and downscale their cloud infrastructure requirements as necessary.
As they charge $1000 for a curated pool I most certainly believe their margin is near 98% when cost of scale enters the equation.
