Entain deal originator (was it the CEO) has egg over his face…he has lob his bid, raised money for it and got it wrong, to add insult to injury, he has dusted funds without even getting a data room setup…it’s a pretty embarrassing effort…he would need to convince his BOD and shareholders, that he needs more money (plus fees) to have another crack at access, in the interim the target has indicated an interest in dealing with one of the bidders in a different commercial arrangement…add to that the complexities of regulation which too could take a while (if ever) to get approved…big gamble for him (Ent. CEO)…if that’s the route he goes, he better get it right, otherwise he will be uploading his resume to seek…he is probably better off trying to buy BET…
