In past posts I think Granny mentioned that Peter V'landys would probably not give approval to the foreign bidders. So I think for Entain and Apollo to get regulatory approvals and for ACCC to give the ok, could be a bridge too far.

So if I was to bet on an outcome I would agree with your point 4. For Tabcorp to retain or spin out the business unit and reinvigorate it with Betmakers tech. Maybe Matt Tripp to run it? If it was to be demerged. As with BET's current share price I am not sure if BET's original takeover is possible anymore, unless there is a dramatic improvement in the price soon.
