Noticed on the Sonris site that there has been an update on the information about Acosta #1 well (well designated as serial number 238958 on Sonris)

There have been a few additions added in recent weeks.

The first is that the permit for the well must have run out on 29th June 2009.
The permit appears to have been renewed or taken out again on 30th June 2009. So that would appear to indicate that there are still plans to do something with it.

Other info relates to the following:

* Drill Name : To the original name of the well "STEPHEN F ACOSTA ET AL" has been added the initials "SWD"
(I'm not too sure of the significance of those letters "SWD".
I could be creative and suggest "Side Ways Deviation" but that is probably too creative !)

* Well class (classification): II 5.
Now that code would appear to mean "Produced salt water"
which may be a reference to the earlier drilling perhaps ?

* Status Code : 9
Now that code appears to mean "active injection".
Whatever that means.

Now I could have got some of the code information wrong but I think it links up to the right detail as far as I can see.

So will have to wait and see whether we get an indication when they might do something further with this well
