Tangs, logic would tell me such an invasion is less likely now than a few months ago. I concede that logic is not always obvious in politics.
Russia just had to drive over a line on a map with superior weapons to crush Ukraine. Didn't happen. By contrast China has to cross a sea wider than the English Channel and we know how much effort the allies put into THAT exercise. The Taiwanese have had years to prepare their defences so will be able to hold China at bay until the cavalry arrives.
Xi would need to be delusional to believe that his army is more capable and less corrupt than Russia's.
