Agreed, this is a mine and plant that should be built for so many reasons. Australia needs to secure a significant piece of the battery metals pie and what better away to achieve this than by stimulating the north QLD economy at the same time. I would have thought that state and federal governments would have been claiming Sconi as a way to contribute to the fight against climate change. Recent disappointments aside there still seems to be much to like; revised BFS figures will hopefully be much more attractive, financing discussions progressing and stated aim of a final package in near future (if management are to be relied on), interest from NAIF and potential for both sides of politics to want this project to move forwards with an election looming, SKI still at the table even if options are gone (although a new option agreement could be formed with shareholder approval), Marcus in, Bergen out, and long term principles of supply and demand that seem to be in our favour given the plans that car and battery makers have been laying.
