My understanding is there are no defined periods, refer below.
The applicable rule on each occasion is not whether the dealing is within an arbitrarily designated ‘trading window’ or ‘black-out period’, but whether the market is fully informed. This is a complex commercial judgment based upon the particular circumstances of the company at the time. In general practice, the judgment is made in consultation with the chairman, who will consult with senior management. It is a case by case assessment where general rules and arbitrarily designated time periods are of little assistance.
My feeling is Wayne has been aware of a collaboration since mid to late last year, of which the market is not fully aware of the details. If he was buying it would be based on knowledge of a potential significant event and could be frowned upon if it comes to market and the share price takes off.
All IMO DYOR
Cheers
