Yeh, you should always have some cash imo, IT systems and ATM's can crash and i guess with the world not looking very peaceful State hackers causing trouble is probably more likely too, i don't know what caused the Tesco/Sainbury's out or the Maccas one but it's just a risk in the digital age i suppose, cash will probably always work.
I think the Maccas one got hit in the US and i think most or a lot of Maccas stores in the world are reliant on it's US system in some ways.
