Have you ever bitten off more than you can chew?
After our 8 year old front loader washing machine died and was not repairable economically we decided to buy the largest front loader we could find. A huge 14 kg capacity machine.
We waited for 3 weeks for it to arrive at the store and picked it up in the dual cab this afternoon.
Eager to get it into the laundry we were a bit taken aback when we read the weight listed on the side of the box. A mere 86 kg all up in the box.
A few feeble attempts by Darby and Joan to lift it down confirmed we didn’t have a hope in hell.
In the end we brought the tractor and forks up to the back of the Ute and shuffled the machine onto a pallet which we lowered onto the ground as close as we could get to destination.
A heavy duty bag trolley got it to the back door and we managed to squeeze it through.
It is now in place but we can’t fit between the machine and the laundry tub on one side and shower recess on the other to level the feet.
Maybe a smaller machine would have been the ticket.
