Price controls and regulations which you are suggesting is socilaism/communism, centralization of market share is communism too, having too few people with too much power is also communism, i think snowy hydro is gov funded and that is also communism, government partnering with public companies is also commies in action, these are all the reasons why we have higher inflation than most other countries, we are also way way over regulated and regulations have a cost that has to be passed on to consumers, productivity is extremely dismal which also has a cost to pass on, government is about 3 or 4 times bigger than it should be and our tax burden is too high and with those things staying in place your never going to get cheap goods and services and our Aussie dollar will continue to debase itself and inflation will stay higher for longer.

I promote smaller government, minimal regulations and a globally competitive taxation system.

They the supermarkets have not been proven on price gouging, 6% margins are not gougers, Airline prices and energy prices are high solely due to communist government policy, it's got nothing to do with the companies as the companies have to follow the regulations and gov policies and laws of the land, although that Qantas man over Xmas last year did work with our government to screw the public on airfares so i'll give you that company interfering to price gouge with Albo's help..

You'll have to look into and understand all the governments regulations and policies on the energy sector and water sector to understand why the increases in prices are happening, it's purely gov policy, i complain about it everyday nearly, year after year.
