    I suppose you do know that you can also vacuum the bottom of the pond for leaves too depending on water levels.
    It's something I do using a plastic tube but can only vacuum it down to a certain level - about half. It picks up fish poo.
    You just need the bucket you're vacuuming into to be on lower ground @Justis

    It will look great I'm sure and there are some great plants that can go into a water garden and some emerging ones can give
    decent height too.

    I don't have problems with mosquitos because fish will rise for them and the water is circulated and filtered. Would you see
    that as being a problem?

    Thanks heavens numbers are coming down in Melbourne - none too soon from a mental health point for many here
    and that includes me. I'd feel even worse if my spec shares were tanking but they are doing OK.
