I've been thinking of goldfish lately either in a pond of tank inside. If I have the pond outside more than likely snakes will come. There was an old pot I had that we waterproofed and it had fish in it for years until the flood.

Not surprised the pet shop keen on the baby ones, juvenile blue marron at around 5-8cm sell for $10-15

Must have been a decent size Marron, they only breed after they are 2-2.5 years old

I did have a blue one but I presume another one killed it, yes they are cannibalistic and are vulnerable when they moult so have to provide hides for them
