As to Palmer --- he is a conservative, a label very few politicians can claim to be

When we vote for an independent it is not to put them in the PMs chair it is to deny the major parties your vote and get more bargaining power on the basis of "The enemy of my enemy is my friend"

Also pick any politician and prove they are any better than the worst one
The two major parties do all in their power to eliminate independents to give themselves unfettered power

Just my biased view of a politicians
I was at a business breakfast at one time and Andrew Peacock was the guest speaker and he started with the line "I am a professional politician"
At this comment I almost vomited my breakfast up

I always liked Peacock but A.P.P !!! could not think of anything worse
