But we bought a house in the burbs before we bought the farm and then we built a lovely stone house there.
But the burb house, which was 1 1/4 hrs away, has always been our principle place of residence.
I am surprised that others farmers don’t do this, just a thought.

Thanks Joannie, We do okay and I don't mind paying tax if it went to where it's supposed to help.
We have a great accountant.
But now we have taxes on everything and rules on everything.
I really feel for nurses, etc. So little pay and very hard work.
