    Our chooks around 100 or so, used to run wild lol, and every now and then, us sucker kids would have to run after some to catch for tucker.
    The old copper would be going with boiling water, so you would dip the dead chook in to make it easier to remove the feathers.
    A sister or two had the task of plucking and gutting.

    My Father in later years worked on his uncles farm of 5000 ac's and part of his wage included a sheep per week or every fortnight (8 kids).
    He would bring it home, kill, skin and gut and hang up over night, covered in a bran bag.
    The next morning he would cut it up.
    LOL, the chops he use to cut with an axe on the chopping block.
    At times when eating the chops, you would be chomping on or spitting out bone fragments tongue.png
