Morning,
Tech sold off, it really was the only thing making the market rise up. Due for a sell off. Not discounting China just yet. I'm thinking that they are waiting for the US elections to be over and then make a decision on stimulus. So I'm thinking November will be good.
Stayed up late talking to friends overseas. All of a sudden their new word is lithium in America. Big talk about if Trump gets in, he'll leave the dollar eventually as his tariffs will fail on other countries and then the change will happen to gold. That was just them discussing it. Then wake up to him stating he'll put tariffs on any countries debasing the US dollar.
"On August 31, 2024, BlackRock Inc. (Trades, Portfolio), a prominent investment management firm, expanded its investment portfolio by acquiring an additional 2,220,059 shares of Albemarle Corp (NYSE:ALB). This transaction increased BlackRock's total holdings in the company to 12,183,614 shares, reflecting a significant commitment to Albemarle, a key player in the lithium and chemicals industry. The shares were purchased at a price of $90.25 each, marking a strategic addition to BlackRock's diverse investment portfolio."
If lithium is dead why has one of the world's biggest fundies expanded their portfolio into Albemarle. Why not coal?
Interesting that Glencore and Yancoal suddenly withdrew their application for a mine in the Hunter.
I'm making chocolate muffins today. Have a request.
