Yes the US dollar is controlled, i don't know by how many but it would be a small number, maybe 12, maybe less, maybe a few more but somewhere round there imo. Basically all Fiat (fake) money is controlled, most countries have central banks like us, they control the supply and the bribe (interest rates).
Bitcoin is a de-centralized network and is not controlled by anyone and can't really be controlled either, no one owns it, it just exists in cyberspace just like Gold exists in the ground however only ever going to be 21 million Bitcoins whereas Gold keeps getting found and this dilutes the worth, no dilution at bitcoin ever, it's real, 1=1 forever, also most secure software ever written.
From about 1860 until a week after the Titanic sank the US didn't have a central bank, Andrew Jackson got rid of it, he was a smart dude, he understood what economics was good for the people but i think someone shot him one day....
