's jet fighters include several models that play crucial roles in the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). The primary fighter jet currently in service is the CF-188 Hornet, which has been used since 1982. It is a multi-role fighter aircraft used for air defence, air superiority, ground attack, tactical support, training, aerobatic demonstration, and aerospace testing and evaluation. The CF-188 Hornet is set to be replaced by the F-35A Lightning II, with the first 16 F-35s expected to be delivered in 2026.
