Yes I also once upon a time did believe in the sanctity of the medical profession, but it has changed in my experience
First the quality of training dropped
The conscience and care given became less important
The race for money became paramount
The safety of their jobs and career overrode all else

By no means is this change limited to the medical profession but due to advancing age and greater experience with their poor results I certainly have a very strong impression that I stay well away from them. I do know that my life span has been reduced due to "unsuccessful operations by specialists

Two years ago I was recommended to have a pacemaker fitted as my heart was damaged
The one fitted was (I was told by medics) that it was the most expensive one made, but when I looked up the specs it was not one to suit my problem
After more research I came across a 1980 ? ABC program that went into the pacemaker scam where the gov, the medical insurance paid for it and the doctors got a kick back for fitting it BUT after all this time no follow up action was ever taken and the doctors were more concerned as to the patient having medical insurance rather than the necessity of the patient needing it I have yet to see if my pacemaker does anything at all

So then comes Covid and I do know doctors who would not tow the Gov line who were sacked

So you can see I do not have a high opinion of the medical profession
This was my experience and everyone should come to their own conclusions but just be sure to ask questions and check the answers

Many young doctors use their iPads and computers before they even complete a physical exam.
I go into Mum’s doctors appointments now and make sure she has the check up required.
A grandmother at the cattle sale spoke of her grand daughter taken to our local hospital with severe chest pain and trouble breathing. Doctor didn’t listen to her chest and sent her home with Panadol “just a virus”.
The next day she was in real trouble and the father drove her Base Hospital. Fluid all around the heart and a tumour the size of your fist behind the heart.
Ended up in Brisbane with poor prognosis.
They accepted a trial protocol since she only had weeks to live.
She responded to treatment thankfully.
