@kingpins - you just lost your appeal as a lover! (Most men who hate cats are lousy lovers - from my not so vast experience.) Joking aside: true, men who have a soft spot for cats, are cuddly and warm with their women folk too; they usually are kind with other animal species as well - I had such a husband . . . . long long ago, he died too young!
The thing with birds - they know when a cat is about and stay away by themselves - I have no doubt that most domestic cats also catch the odd wild prey, they certainly love watching it. I have a number of small native animals share the same outdoors water dishes (2) with my cat - she ignores them. I have had the odd magpie walk the grounds, again; ignored - but the 'tribe' stays away - cats as a species are a danger to birds. I still have pidgeon pairs breeding at the back of my garden albeit in a tree, but they tend to 'walk about' - again, no 'bodies'!
Walking a cat on a lead? you must be joking!
Anyway, I am cat woman, my emblem, if I ever had to chose one, would be the 'Leopard'! Don't play with shot guns and Go well Tau ❤️
