But fact checking aside, let’s acknowledge there is a quantum difference between “gifts” worth perhaps $100’s to $10,000’s or in rare cases $100,000’s up to $1,000,000 as a thank you for service or services rendered vs transferring $400,000,000 at the outset of a Presidency … you can’t hide, nor should seek to hide, the real likelihood that such a gift and its timing is expected to curry favour during the presidency, despite denials and protestations from ardent Republicans.
