    The EU has trade barriers and taxes on the US imports which restrict sales, same as Japan with cars.
    An example i've given on the Pin pondering thread is a car that costs 65k in the US costs over 100k in Japan and it doesn't cost 35k per car to ship them.
    At most that 65K car should only cost a few thousand more to pay for the shipping but the Japan Gov has policies which increase the cost of that car, EU does much the same with Harley's etc, the US has for years complained about gov restricting sales of harleys through taxes, VAT and regualtions.

    Here we not allowed to import US beef, one goes to US and eats their beef and doesn't catch mad cow, our bio laws are restricting trade not mad cow and are obviously too restrictive.

    It's not fair trade or reciprocal thus Trump's Tariff's.
    25% on Jap auto's is even less then the Japanese imposed costs.
    50% would be about right for the EU to even things out.
