Back in Africa when I was about 4/5 yo could not have been later because we came to Australia after that. Apparently I had gone for long a walk and when I got home I was questioned were I had been so I described how had gone up the beach to near the Tuna factory, across here and there stopping at a few places then came home.
On the subject of sense of direction and getting lost, there was a guy that brought a boat and went to Rotnest island for the first time. Having spent the day there, time to head home he looked up in the sky saw were the sun was and started heading towards it. In his wisdom he the sun was behind him heading to rotnest Island so heading towards it would be the main land. Lucky he ran out of fuel as he was heading to South Africa
