I do bury any fish that dies as well.  I thank them for being my friend as they are gently planted as fertilizer.

Don't forget our other mates though.  You do have a few to go around.

Our butcher @Fishinnick - reminded me of being a kid and Max and Ron our butchers were just great and had a good
sense of humour.
Funny how names just stick after all those decades.

They would always wrap the cat meat for Sis and she got to carry that and the dog meat I got to carry and mum - well
she carried our meat.
They always made sure they did an extra wrap so we had drawing paper when I told them we used the butchers paper
for drawing and how good I was at drawing.  LOL

It was a very different era post second world war.
