Ceiling height makes an enormous difference to the feel of any home @michelef - used to one thing and go into a place
with a low ceiling and although it might be better for heating the feeling isn't there.
The one reason I haven't installed roof top solar is because I would have to firstly replace the roof tiling with a metal insulated
roof. The cavity is insulated well but broken tiles under solar panels would not work.
I would be replacing just half of the roof - that part not seen from the street.
I have heeded the advice of a HC poster who used to do tiling and knows my roof tiles well. They are prone to cracking
unfortunately although they look great.
It's another thing I have to consider when I have my gutters cleaned. There is no way I want anyone walking on my roof.
The last group did everything from the ground and had a terrific tool the shape of the gutters.
