HC forums are notorious for the likes of those that we have seen posting recently (and getting moderated) who most often have very personal hidden agendas, like bringing up stuff of five years ago when all the great stuff that has been discovered is out in the open. What do they hope to achieve? Most often it's a warning to readers to put them off investing in the company, or, puts doubt in the minds of holders, who then contemplate selling. It is far too naive to think that these people, who are nearly always non-holders, want to "help" others to "save" them from losing their money. Who really believes that? SOME DO!!! And who benefits????
And some of those posters are also famously naive and end up in so much (very expensive) trouble thinking that their anonymity in these forums protects them from libel suits and defamation actions. How very foolish to think that.
And, the moderators are very conscious of those issues and IF a post breaches HC's terms of use (TOU) they will act immediately.
BUT, there are thousands of posts per day and the moderators can't be expected to pick them all up themselves and that's where other posters are involved.
Consider this, a poster puts a defamatory comment in a forum which casts huge doubts about the character of, say, the Chairman of the company. Hundreds of people could have read that before it was moderated and removed. TOO LATE, throw enough mud and some always sticks!!!
So in defence of YOUR own investment, if you see any post that casts aspersions on the company, YOUR company, report it immediately before too much damage is done.
