Hi frogbat, yeh it’s a shame a few of the States actively discourage onshore gas development, causing a lot of pain, and then needing Federal govt to rescue them. Perhaps the federal govt should consider putting a levy on the non comply States and use those funds to subsidies energy prices to consumers.

Regulatory hurdles, yes I guess that’s the main reason I have only 80% chance of succeeding, on FIRB though always better when offer comes from free market countries as opposed to State controlled countries I guess.

Not sure if will be any significant Competition issues, with the likes of AGL and Woodside etc competing in the spaces, don’t see any concentration of ownership, just another party owning them, but would be interested to hear from others that may know a bit more about what existing energy assets the takeover parties may own.

Anyway will be interesting to see how it all plays out
