take a look at the following map and ask yourself if its a relatively low risk entry for your investing appetite to await drilling results on this one
previous ventures into brazil have obviosuly created a stalemate which has tarnished the credibility trust of management by the investment community one feels but after reserching other in the areas of interest we are in- its safe to safe that they have entered a safer play to try and regain some investor confidence and to start afresh - restoring investor trust and creating sharehoder vlue
just take a look at this map and ask yourself if we are in a proven petroleum kitchen or what?

furthermore- what about others in the area- imho, this is far from a wildcat well for world oil resources- but a well in a proen petroleum province,, assesing its ability to produce more oil and gas which seems to have slept around since operations ceased- safe enough for me to accumulate more
Tengasco Inc. has 171 active producing wells in Kansas with the majority located on the Central Kansas Uplift and adjacent west flank. The Kansas subsurface is divided into five basins that are separated by uplifts. Basins are characterized as thicker sedimentary rock packages than those found on the uplifts. The western third of Kansas is underlain by the Hugoton Embayment of the Anadarko Basin. This basin is very deep in Oklahoma with depths exceeding 40,000 feet and shallows into Western Kansas.
The Central Kansas Uplift separates the Hugoton Embayment from the Salina and Sedgwick Basins of Central Kansas. The Central Kansas Uplift is a structural high that trends from northwest-southeast and is the largest structural feature in Kansas. A map showing the oil and gas fields of Kansas clearly shows the impact of the structural features on the distribution of oil and gas deposits. Production on the uplift primarily comes from the Lansing/Kansas city Group and the prolific Arbuckle Group. Production on the west flank trending into the Hugoton Embayment comes from the Cherokee Group and Mississippian age rocks. Other geologic units provide minor amounts to production totals.
Focusing on central Kansas, Tengasco currently has approximately 20,971 acres under lease containing 14,261 acres held by production (HBP) and 6,710 acres not HBP in various stages of development. Exploration and Development drilling in Kansas has been focused on, but not limited to, ten central counties on the Central Kansas Uplift and on the west flank. Of these, Rooks County contains 58% of the Company’s actively producing wells.
The Company had Net Oil reserves of $2,817,000 Bbl (proved) at YE2009. Kansas accounted for 91% of the Company’s revenue and 92% of the Company’s total production. Tengasco’s total production from Kansas is 600 barrels per day.

International oil and gas players are diving into the growing Mississippian play of northern Oklahoma and southern Kansas.
Oklahoma City-based Sand Ridge Energy Inc. is selling drilling rights to 363,636 acres in the Mississippian to Spanish company Repsol YPF. SandRidge said it will receive $250 million in cash and $750 million obligated toward drilling development that the company hopes to satisfy in three years.
“We are excited to announce this joint venture with Repsol, a global energy leader, and we are pleased that they share our confidence in the development potential of this vast Mississippian oil play,” SandRidge CEO Tom Ward said in a statement. “We compare the scope of this play to the Bakken and believe it will be transformational for the Mid-Continent region of the United States.”
The joint venture excludes all wells and acreage in the covered area drilled before Jan. 1 and all wells and acreage associated with SandRidge Mississippian Trust I.
The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter, subject to closing conditions.
The Mississippian lime formation has attracted oil and gas explorers to once abandoned fields now made oil-rich properties through horizontal drilling. Sand Ridge helped lead the way, drilling 195 horizontal wells – nearly half of those drilled in the play so far, according to reports.
Tulsa-based Eagle Energy also has extensive holdings in the Mississippian, producing 4,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day as of September. Chesapeake Energy Corp. and Devon and Energy Corp., both based in Oklahoma City, also are investing in the Mississippian region.
“I think it’s probably the hottest play going in the country,” Eagle CEO Steve Antry told the Tulsa World in September.
RAM Resources Inc., a Tulsa-based producer, is exploring wells within a Mississippi chat formation in Osage County. Longtime Houston oilman Floyd Wilson, who is leading a $550 million recapitalization of RAM, wants to focus much of the company’s energies in that formation.
Wildcatters are drawn to the oil-rich mixture in the mature fields of the Mississippian. Some estimate production there at 50 percent to 52 percent oil.
SandRidge will sell Repsol an approximately 25 percent non-operated working interest in its Mississippian extension in western Kansas and a 16 percent non-operated working interest in its original play.

Petroleum Technology Transfer Council , December 2011 reports:
Mississippi Limestone— Horizontal Drilling Liquids Play
A thick Mississippian porous limestone has been identified in Oklahoma and Kansas overlying the Woodford Shale. Oil has been produced from the Mississippian Limestone for over 50 years in minor amounts, but the recent emphasis on liquid-rich plays has caused operators to reevaluate the Mississip- pian Lime as a target for horizontal drilling. The Mississippian Lime has high grade crude oil and natural gas liquids. Other benefits of the emerging play include the high oil price and close proximity to infrastructure.
SandRidge Energy of Oklahoma City is the original developer of the horizontal Missis- sippian Lime play and holds a significant land position. Matthew Grubb, president and CEO of SandRidge, says we have “completed more than 100 horizontal wells in the original 900,000-acre play, (and) we have generated nearly $15 billion in net asset value.” San- dRidge has also identified a second Mississip- pian-age play in the Oklahoma-Kansas area and is actively acquiring leases. The shallow Mississippian Lime at 6,000 ft depth averages 200-300 ft thick. Vertical well control is ex- cellent, making the 4,000-ft, 10-stage laterals relatively easy to implement.
Other companies have joined SandRidge in horizontal development of the Mississippian Lime, including Eagle Energy of Tulsa, OK. Eagle CEO, Steve Antry, says they originally began drilling in the area for Hunton wells,a somewhat deeper gas play. Eagle uses low pressure hydraulic fracs and 400-ft, eight- stage fracs on their Mississippian Lime leases. High production and managed costs have resulted in an 82.5% rate of return on initial investment and a total rate of return of 130%.
Osage Resources (Hutchinson, KS.), Superior Oil & Gas (Oklahoma), and AusTex Oil Lim- ited (Texas) are also developing leaseholds in the Mississippian Limestone play.

and if you still think that im jut ramping here i strongly suggest you look at the following map where tengasco has very profitable-economic plays in Kansas and look at how they are in cose proximity to our fields in Rice and McPherson counties, Kansas. ( particularly Stafford, Barton and Ellis)
