When running your own portfolio, it can be and is very fickle with ups and downs with most/all stocks!
It takes years to learn and become proficient to trade successfully and unfortunately some never do, or maybe get partially there?
All stock investors over the years have wins and loses.........it's a learning process that we have all gone through and still do!
The greatest way to succeed is having a balanced portfolio, with a spread of investments, that you aren't reliant on with just 1 or 2 stocks.
Mate, you and all of us have a genuine bitch the way this stock has performed over the years. Particularly the way it was pushed higher when it reached above $2.+ 7 or 8 years ago. (Toby and Co). IMO ASIC should have looked at his influence and trading! (But he did get us AEM!)
Most of us that have continued to hang on to this stock, have done so, as we still believe the viability and potential is still there!
The smart astute ones (not me) since 2017 have sold SMN high and then repurchased low and repeated this many times over the last 8 years or so and have made very good profits and are still hold shares.
Some others maybe have sold regardless at the end of the financial years, made a loss, which has lowered their tax from other successful yearly profits. This is where professional help can be of great assistance.
We all make "bad choices" at times, but the old saying "Big profits can mean big risks" (or time as in SMN).
I sincerely hope you and all of us kick a goal with this very frustrating stock in the very near future?
Hopefully the next few months will see a breakthrough. IMO once we get FAA approval there will many Airlines around the world, including military air forces who will "jump on the band wagon". Then it will be very interesting times for us shareholders. As always DYOR.
