If anything the majors will do ANYTHING they can possibly do to keep the chinese out of "their" Pilbara.

They will certainly NOT open up the railways for the Chinese, if anything they will move in and stop any take-over that will challenge their position in the Pilbara.

When the Chinese wanted to take a stake in UMC, BHP came very quick to the party and took out UMC before the Chinese could get hold of it.

Not sure how this will play out but I can close to guarantee that if the majors believe that these take-overs become a treat to them that they will anyhint to remove this treat.

time only will tell

but very intersting times ahead.
