It should still be interesting to see how this pans out.

Even in an article today's SMH
    http://www.smh.com.au/news/articles/tivo-offers-a-taste-of-things-to-come/2008/01/09/1199554709370.html

you get comments such as Seven this, and Seven that.

"Seven has said TiVo will launch before August, in time for the Beijing Olympics, but the final price is still unclear."

"Danovitz said all of the TiVo features available to US users would be offered to Australians but it was up to Seven to decide on the timing."

"Danovitz would not comment on whether Seven would limit the fast-forwarding function of the TiVo to prevent users from skipping its ads, but it is understood this would be unlikely as TiVo opens up a swathe of new sales opportunities for Seven, as new types of unskippable ads can be placed throughout the menu interface and during shows."

It's not bad press when engin has the exclusive distribution right for TiVo in Australia and Seven really only owns 34%. Fair enough, they have board control.

If you were a competitor station you would almost be tempted to see if you could acquire 51% of engin in a raid, just to put Seven off side. On seconds thoughts, I'm sure NineMSN has a MS WindowsMedia Center coming. TiVo wouldn't run Windows.
